TINDAK TUTUR EKSPRESIF PADA STAND UP COMEDY ACADEMY INDOSIAR SEASON 1

Abstract

This study aims to describe the type and meaning of expressive speech act found in Stand Up Comedy Academy Indosiar Season 1. The study used descriptive qualitative design. The data were collected using observation technique, especially on the use of expressive speech act used by comics in Stand Up Comedy Academy Indosiar Season 1 top 12 in group one. The data were collected with continueous note technic to transcribe verbal language to written language. The data were analyzed through the stages of selecting the data, coding the data of conversation, classificating the data, checking completeness of the data, and describing the data. The types and meanings of expressive speech act found in Stand Up Comedy Academy Indosiar Season 1 those were (1) praising (2) feeling annoyed (3) criticizing (4) thanking (5) feeling surprised (6) congratulating (7) mocking (8) feeling worried (9) quipping (10)apologizing (11) feeling confused. Although, there were expressive negative speech act connoted as mocking and quipping but the meanings of the types were not negative because this speech act aims to entertain.
