MITOS DALAM NOVEL TEMBANG TOLAK BALA KARYA HAN GAGAS

Abstract

Literary work is the result of the writers creative thinking which has a beauty and aesthetic value. Literary work uses language as the media. One of the literary works is novel. This study aimed at finding out the myths and message beneath “Tembang Tolak Bala” novel by Han Gagas. This novel contains a lot of myths that is still believed by Javanese people until today. The method used was qualitative descriptive and the technique used was library research. The results of the study showed that the novel revealed the myths from the ghosts, spell, and spiritual behavior of Javanese. While the messages gained from the ghosts, the spells, and Javanese spiritual behaviour myths.
