GAYA BAHASA DALAM PENDESKRIPSIAN STRUKTUR NOVEL RAHASIA 2 HATI KARYA MUMAINNAH

Abstract

Language is a means of literary expression that are aesthetical. The author frequently inserts unique languages in describing the story. It aims to strengthen the impression and aesthetics depicted of its elements. This study focuses on the use of language to describe background and characters in the novel. This research uses qualitative descriptive method, meaning to describe something as it is which used the data in the form of words, phrases and sentences. Data used in this study were analyzed by using content analysis. The object of this study was novel ‘Rahasia 2 Hati’ written by Mutmainnah. The results showed that the author used language style to describe the structure of the background and character structure in its telling. The use of language style is intended to strengthen aesthetic value and to reinforce the impression of setting as well as the state of the characters in the story.
