KONFLIK SOSIAL TOKOH AMID DALAM NOVEL LINGKAR TANAH LINGKAR AIR KARYA AHMAD TOHARI

Abstract

Social conflicts need to be studied as knowledge in daily living. Social conflict does not only happen in real life, but often appear in a literary work, like novel. The objective of this research was to explore the meaning of social conflict which experienced by Amid in Lingkar Tanah Lingkar Air Novel written by Ahmad Tohari as a life representation. This study used qualitative descriptive method and library study as design of research. The technique of collecting data used was note taking. The data were analyzed by using content analysis technique which used sociological theory of literature. The result of this research indicated the social conflict which experienced by the main character. Specifically, social conflicts were divided into internal and external social conflict. Internal social conflict could be seen in Amid depression when he became a member of Darul Islam, he experienced something that was not expected. The external social conflict were showed by fighting between Amid party with the other parties who hate them.
