TINDAK TUTUR DIREKTIF DAN EKSPRESIF PADA TALK SHOW HITAM PUTIH TRANS 7 TANGGAL 11 OKTOBER 2013

Abstract

Pragmatics is the study of meaning which puts the speech act as the basis of analysis. As known, there are five types of speech act in Pragmatics, they are: representative, directive, expressive, comissive, and declarative. These five types of speech act can be analyzed within the conversation among the speaker(s) and the hearer(s). This article is aimed at describing the speech act in the talk show program “Hitam Putih” Trans 7, in October 11th, 2013, especially in directive and expressive types of speech act. The method used was descriptive qualitative. The data taken from the utterances between the presenter (Deddy Corbuzier) and the guest star (Farah Quinn). The result of analysis showed that the types of directive speech act covered asking, ordering, suggesting, and forcing. The types of expressive speech act covered praising, criticizing, emphasizing, and apologizing.
