Abstract

The Indonesian government started to implement curriculum 2013 in all level of education, including at Islamic elementary school since last year. Curriculum 2013 requires the teacher to provide much opportunities for children to be more creative, includingcreative writing. This study was done at Nuurusshiddiiq Islamic Elementary School Cirebon. The data were taken from the students’ writing, by applying purposive sampling technique, consisted of 25 male and 25 female. The data were gathered through: 1) observasion, 2) interview, 3) questionnaire, and 4) test. The validity was tested by data triangulation and method triangulation. The result of study showed that 1) the students were lack of descriptive writing concept, 2) most of the students did not use the standardized writing form; 3) the students were lack of word formation concept 4) the students were unable to write the sentences well, and 5) the students were less concern to the words meaning.
