GAYA BAHASA DALAM KUMPULAN CERPEN TAK SEMANIS SENYUMMU KARYA SIROJUTH

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe how the use of language styles of comparison, contradiction, linkage, and repetition in the collection of short stories Tak Semanis Senyummu by Sirojuth. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive research type. The data contained in this study are in the form of sentences and author’s expressions contained in a collection of short stories by Sirojuth. There are 49 data styles found, including: comparative language style, there are 15 data, namely: parable (2), metaphor (2), personification (3), depersonification (2), pleonasm (2), antithesis (2), anticipation (2). There are 16 data of conflicting language styles, namely: hyperbole (5), climax (3), anticlimax (2), paradox (2), zeugma (2), antiphrasis (2). There are 8 linkage language styles, namely: antonomasia (2), erotic (3), gradation (2), asindeton (2). The repetition language style has 10 data, namely: anaphora (4), antanaklasis (1), assonance (3), alliteration (2).
