Reading poem ability at elementary school is one of language skill aspect in Indonesian teaching. The competency and learning achievment are enable the student to read poem correctly using assesment criteria both linguistic and non linguistic aspect. The research is conducted to get objective description about the improvement of reading poem ability both in linguistic and non linguistic aspect trough modelling technique. The research design used is cllassroom action research. The result shows that modelling tecnique can improve the students’ reading poem ability in the linguistic aspect of (1) intonation, (2) space, (3) articulation, and for the non linguistic aspect (1) expression, (2) gesture, (3) characterization, and (4) bravery.
