Media Katak Ciamis untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Klasifikasi Informasi Teks Berita

Abstract

One of the learning media that can be used for teaching Indonesian subjects on the elementary school level was Katak Ciamis (keywords in diagram line). The purpose of this study is to prove the effectiveness of Katak Ciamis media in improving students’ skills in clasifying information in news texts. The design of the study was steps based on cycles. The researcher chose Suharsimi Arikunto’s research model with the stages of planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting in each cycle. This research was conducted in three cycles. The research setting was on Muhammadiyah Ponorogo Elementary School. Observation and testing were the data collection techniques. The data obtained were analyzed with descriptive statistics on average and percentage. The results showed that there was an increase in students’ skills in classifying information in the news text using the Katak Ciamis media. In cycle 1 the percentage of students’ mastery learning was only 54%. In cycle 2 the percentage of students’ mastery learning was 75%. Then in cycle 3 the percentage of students’ mastery learning was 93%.
