Abstract

The students’ success is inseparable from the important role of the family, especially parents, in paying attention on material and non-material needs. One of the learning successes in early childhood is the religious aspect; it cannot be separated from the role of parents. This research was conducted quantitatively at RA Muslimat NU 085 Pulosari Jambon Ponorogo. Data collection techniques used documentation and questionnaire. The data then analyzed using the product moment correlation analysis. The research results showed that the parents’ Islamic education level was 30% (15 students) categorized good, 40% (22 students) categorized medium, and 20% (13 students) categorized low. In case of students’ religious character, the result showed that 22% (11 students) categorized good, 50% (25 students) categorized medium, and 28% (14 students) categorized low. Further, the findings highly suggested that there was an influence of parents’ Islamic religious education level on students’ religious character (97.2%). Islamic religious education in the family for students was good on average, evidenced by the parents who always reminded to carry out five times prayers and got used to do sunnah worship and charity, forbid to criticize or ridicule others and teach to respect older people, even though there were some parents who had not implemented this education in their families yet.
