Abstract

Traditional games can affect children’s social skill. Basically, traditional games are simple and carried out in groups. Traditional games applied in TK Dharma Wanita Persatuan 2 Jurug have not been used optimally to improve social skills, especially the traditional game of Bakiak Beregu. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of early childhood social skill through the traditional game of Bakiak Beregu for group B students on TK Dharma Wanita Persatuan 2 Jurug. This study used CAR design. This study used the traditional game of Bakiak Beregu as the object of research and the subjects of this study were 17 students of group B. The data collection instrument used observation sheets and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique uses paired sample t-test on two groups of data, namely pre-test and post-test. The results showed that there was an effect of the traditional game of Bakiak Beregu on the improvement of social skill. The results of data analysis obtained on pre-cycle was 18.59 and the first cycle average score was 21.29. The result of paired sample t-test, t-count value of 6.217 > 1.745, based on the decision-making criteria, it can be concluded there was a significant difference between pre-cycle and cycle I. This proved an increase of the average value obtained between the pre-cycle and the first cycle.
