Abstract

This research focuses on how STEAM influences the cognitive development of 5-6 years old students that is taken place at TK Merak. The researcher used the quasi experimental design with posttest only control design. The experimental group receives STEAM during the treatment period while the control grup studies as usual. The researcher compiled the observation sheets and the school dokumentation to gain the information about the learning progress of those two groups. After accomplished the validation and reliability test, the researcher uses t-test toward the datas. The t-test, with the helping of SPSS18, showed that the significance value (2 tailed) equal variances assumed reached 0,001<0,005. The research proved that STEAM has a significant influences toward the cognitive development. Due to that result, the researcher hopes that in the future there will be a lot of research about STEAM. By exploring STEAM deeper, the students will gain more benefits in the future.
