Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the role of parents to succeed STEAM-based learning in kindergarten. This research was conducted in Mardisiwi kindergarten, Kedondong Village, Kebonsari District, Madiun, East Java. There are 20 students in the kindergarten, 10 boys and 10 girls. This study involved students’ parent as research subjects. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Data are collected through observation and interviews. Furthermore, data analysis was carried out descriptively. From the results of the research, it can be explained that the role of parents is very important in the digital transformation era as it is today. The role of parents to succeed STEAM-based learning in Mardisiwi kindergarten is done through asah, asih, and asuh. Apart from that, by arousing children’s potential and creativity, introducing gadgets to children and setting the time to use them. Another result that was also revealed was the behavior of parents who limit the use of cell phones in front of the children. The results of the study show that the role of parents is very important to succeed STEAM-based learning.
