Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating generative artificial intelligence in early literacy learning for children aged 5–6 years and determine the validity of the instrument used to measure early childhood literacy skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a simple experimental design. Data collection was carried out through observation instruments and assessments of children’s early literacy skills. Data analysis used the Pearson Product Moment correlation test to determine the relationship between instrument items and the total study score. The analysis results show that most instrument items have a significant relationship to the total score with a significance value below 0.05, thus being declared valid. The item with the highest correlation is P5 at 0.740. The integration of generative artificial intelligence can create more engaging and interactive learning and increase children’s engagement throughout the learning process. The integration of generative artificial intelligence has been shown to positively contribute to the early literacy development of children aged 5–6 years through creative, adaptive, and enjoyable learning.
