Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategy for developing empathy character in early childhood through the one day one coin donation program at Miftahul Huda Jambon Kindergarten. The strategy for habituating alms is allocated in three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with the Miles and Huberman data analysis model. To ensure the information obtained by researchers is thoroughly explored, the validity of the data is determined through diligent observation and triangulation. The planning stage begins with a discussion between the principal and teachers, then socialized to parents. Implementation is carried out by children at home setting aside coins every day accompanied by examples from teachers and reflection. Evaluation is carried out every Saturday in weekly meetings to achieve results, teachers reflect, identify and recommend improvements to the program. With the support of teachers, parents, and children, this program has proven effective in building empathy, social awareness and the habit of sharing.
