The Value Of Character Education in Cerkak Nandur Ing Lemah Cengkar By Budi Wahyono

Abstract

Cerkak is a Javanese literary work and one of the teaching materials in schools. When selecting a cerkak, it must contain character education values. To determine whether a cerkak contains character education values, research is necessary. This study aims to describe the character education values in the cerkak, a children's story story from Jaya Baya magazine, edition number 7, week 3, October 2025, entitled "Nandur ing Lemah Cengkar" by Budi Wahyono. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using library research, listening, and note-taking techniques. The instrument used in this study was the researcher himself as the primary instrument and other supporting tools.The analysis technique used in this study is content analysis. The technique of presenting the results of data analysis uses informal techniques. The results of the study found by the author regarding education are: 1) Curiosity, 2) Friendship, 3) Social Care, 4) Useful for Others, 5) Creativity, 6) Diligence, 7) Gratitude, 8) Love of Reading. This education is still relevant to current conditions and is very good if applied to character education learning materials and Javanese language teaching materials in secondary schools.
