Presuposisi , Implikatur dan Entailment Pada Naskah Kethoprak Rambat Rangkung Karya P.T. Santosa

Abstract

Both verbal and nonverbal communication play important roles in the process of social interaction.A conducive communication may lead to a positive social relationship.However, communication process does not always run smoothly.The speaker's meaning may not be accurately interpreted by interlocutors.It may happen when the meaning is implicit while the speaker may not share the same background knowledge with the interlocutors.Based on this, presupposition, implicature, and entailment can be utilized to scrutinize the meaning beyond texts.The present study attempts to describe the reflection of presupposition, implicature, and entailment in a literary work.It employs descriptive qualitative approach accompanied by literature study analysis. The data source is a script of a kethoprak entitled "Rambat Rangkung" whose author is Pelok Trisna Santosa. This study analizes phrases, clauses, and sentences within conversations in the script. The result shows that presupposition, implicature, and entailment appear 8, 11, and 8 times respectively.Therefore, implicature has the highest frequency in the kethoprak.
