The purpose of this study is to determine the types and meanings of speech acts in expressions on truck beds passing along the Pacitan-Ponorogo Highway. The research design uses a descriptive qualitative method. The data objects in this study are expressions found on truck beds passing along the Pacitan-Ponorogo Highway. The data collection technique in this study uses the listening, reading, and recording method. After the data is collected, it is then analyzed descriptively using the Miles & Hubberman analysis technique. The collected data is classified based on the types of speech acts from Searle, including declarative, assertive, expressive, directive, and commissive. The next step is to interpret the meaning behind each utterance and then evaluated as a checking step against the results of the data analysis that have been grouped and interpreted. The results show that the data obtained fall into several types of speech acts, including illocutionary, directive, expressive, and representative speech acts. These expressions are not only used to beautify the truck bed and have meanings of love, social, and motivational meanings.
