STILISTIKA DALAM KUMPULAN CERPEN KANG MUSTHOFA KARYA HUSNA ASSYAFA

The purpose of this study was to describe the figurative language of (i) comparison, (ii)
contradiction, (iii) linkage, and (iv) repetition in a collection of short stories Kang Musthofa by Husna
Assyafa. The theory used in this study was stylistic theory. The method used in this research was
qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques in this study were reading, recording and literature,
while data analysis techniques were: searching, recording, grouping and analyzing data. Based on
the results of the study, it could be concluded that the collection of short stories Kang Musthofa by
Husna Assyafa used (1) the comparative figurative language (personification, depersonification,
metaphor, pleonasme, anticipation, and antithesis), (2) contradictory figurative language (hyperbole,
climax, anticlimax, paradox, zeugma, antifrasis, and anastrophy or inversion), (3) linkage figurative
language (antonomasia, erotesis, ellipsis, gradation, and asindenton), and (4) repetitive figurative
language (anaphora, antanaclasis, asonance, anadiplosis, alliteration, episphora, and epanalepsis).
