NILAI SOSIAL DALAM NOVEL PEREMPUAN BERSAMPUR MERAH KARYA INTAN ANDARU

Abstract

The study aims to describe the social value in the novel Perempuan Bersampur Merah by Intan Andaru. The social value contained in the novel are about attitudes, behavior and thinking about the good and bad of human life. Therefore, the research approach used is the sociology of literature approach. While the method used is a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study are in the form of words and sentences in the novel Perempuan Bersampur Merah by Intan Andaru. The data was taken using reading, listening, and note-taking techniques. Next, the researcher analyzed the data using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing. The results of the study indicate that there is a representation of social values in the form of: (i) the values of love, realized in the form of caring, devotion, kinship, help, and loyalty, (ii) the value of responsbilty, represented in the form of a sense of belonging, discipline and empathy, (iii) the value of life harmony, described in the form of justice, cooperation, tolerance and democracy. Overall, these social values function as
directions and unifiers, as bulwarks of protection, and as encouragement.
