CITRAAN DALAM NOVEL CEMBURU DI HATI PENJARA SUCI KARYA MA’MUN AFFANY

Abstract

The author creates literature as a way of expressing feelings that represent a life sequence.
One form of literary work is novel. In novel, the use of imagery is various based on the author’s creativity and imagination. The purpose of this research was to describe visual, audio, kinaesthetic, thermal tactile, and olfactory imagery in novel Cemburu di Hati Penjara Suci by Ma’mun Affany. The method used in this research was qualitative descriptive. The analyzing technique included (i) reading, (ii) listening, (iii) recording, and (iv) data analysis technique. The result of the research included: (i) visual imagery, (ii) auditoris imagery, (iii) kinaesthetic imagery, (iv) thermal tactile imagery, and (v) olfactory imagery. Imagery was used to reinforce the figure’s characterization, describe setting, and reinforce plot in Cemburu di Hati Penjara Suci.
