Peningkatan Keterampilan Menulis Puisi Melalui Permainan Sambung Kata Pada-Siswa-Kelas X

Abstract

Language has a central role in students' intellectual, social and emotional development. Learning to write poetry was part of productive and expressive Indonesian language learning. The aim of this research was to improve poetry writing skills through a game-based learning method "connect words". This research was Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles in April 2023 at SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo at class X level with research subjects of 36 students. This research was quantitative research using data in the form of percentages which are analyzed descriptively. The data collection technique was carried out by taking learning outcome scores in cycle I, a questionnaire on the application of the "link words" games-based learning method, as well as learning outcome scores in cycle II to determine the improvement in learning outcomes implemented. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: 1) There was an increase in student learning outcomes in the form of poetry writing skills from an average value in cycle I of 48.61 to 80.00 in cycle II through the application of game-based learning methods "connect words" and 2) The application of the game-based learning method "connect words" was said to be very successful in the process of acquiring new vocabulary for writing poetry in Indonesian language lessons based on student respon.
