Penyimpangan Prinsip Kerja Sama dalam Percakapan Jual Beli di Pusat Perbelanjaan Elektronik Ponorogo

Communication is one important aspect that cannot be separated from human as social beings. In Pragmatics study, communication requires speakers to adhere the Grice’s cooperative principles. In practice, there are many violations in Grice’s cooperative principle. One of the speech events that contained violations is in the conversation of buying and selling goods and services at Asese Computer Somoroto, Ponorogo. Therefore, the study aimed to describe the form and function of violation of Grice cooperative principle. The research used qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection used simulation of respective talk technique, free talk technique, and recording technique. The data then analyzed by using Miles and Hubberman techniques, consisting of data reduction, presenting data, and concluding or verifying. The result of the research showed the violation of cooperative principle in the form of a statement, such as: the explanation is too short, too detailed, non-factual and irrelevant. In addition, there were also forms of requests and orders that consumers do to the addressee he said. The functions of such violation forms were to express something, explain a thing, beg, order, and convince the addressee through his speech.
