Citraan dalam Novel Cinta Di Ujung Sajadah Karya Asma Nadia

Abstract

Imagery is the important thing in literary, especially novel. Novel Cinta Di Ujung Sajadah by Asma Nadia contains the interesting imageries to be analyzed. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to describe visual, audio, kinesthetic, thermaltactile, olfactory imagery depicted in the novel. The theory used in this research is stylistics theory. The research design used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The data taken in the form of words, sentences and dialogues. The data analysis technique includes: (i) data investigation, (ii) data reduction, (ii) data clarification, and (iv) data analysis. The result of the research shows that the novel contains: (i) visual imagery, (ii) auditors imagery, (iii) kinaesthetic imagery, (iv) thermal tactile imagery, (v) olfactory imagery. Those five imageries were usedby the writer to reinforce the figure character, describe setting, reinforceplot, illustrate event and time in Cinta Di Ujung Sajadahnovel by Asma Nadia.
