STRUKTUR KEPRIBADIAN TOKOH UTAMA DALAM NOVEL MAHABBAH KANG HASYIM KARYA NISWATIN NAFIAH

Abstract

This research aims to describe the personality structure of the main character in the novel Mahabbah Kang Hasyim by Niswatin Nafiah using literary psychology studies. The theory used to analyze the personality structure of the main character in the novel Mahabbah Kang Hasyim by Niswatin Nafiah is psychology theory according to Sigmund Freud. The approach in this research is qualitative descriptive using data collection techniques; listening technique, data transcription technique and note-taking technique. The results of the research show that the personality structure of the main character is in accordance with Sigmud Freud’s studies, there are three aspects of personality, namely id, ego and superego. In the id aspect, the character Hasyim in the novel Mahabbah Kang Hasyim by Niswatin Nafiah has an indifferent, humorous, polite and diligent nature. In the ego aspect, Hasyim’s character has the characteristic of not being able to forget the past and a sense of belonging. Meanwhile, in the superego aspect, Hasyim’s character has the characteristic of being able to accept reality.
